Liquor fines and penalties for non-compliance
Non-compliance with liquor law is taken seriously in Queensland. Police and Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation compliance officers can issue you, your staff and patrons on-the-spot fines and hefty penalties for breaches of legislation related to the Liquor Act 1992 and Wine Industry Act 1994.
This guide outlines a range of penalties and on-the-spot fines that apply when liquor licensees, their staff or patrons break Queensland liquor laws. It also explains how to pay an infringement notice and what to do if you cannot pay by the due date. Penalties increase annually on 1 July.
