Steps to apply
Below are the steps that all degree-seeking students must follow to join us. These steps are based on whether you are applying to undergraduate or graduate programs.
Undergraduate programs
- Admissions requirements:Visit the university’s undergraduate requirements page.
- First-year or transfer? Your application process will depend on whether you have 24 or more credit hours of applicable college-level course work. Also note that 30 of the last 36 hours for your undergraduate degree must be taken with Mizzou.
- Transcripts: Transfer students will need to ask their previous schools to send official transcripts to the university.
- Application fee: $55 application fee. Contact the Admissions Office for more information.
Graduate programs
- Admissions requirements: Visit your program for details, but keep in mind that most graduate programs require a 3.0 GPA for entrance.
- Transfer credits: Graduate degree-seeking students can transfer only 20% of the total program, as you are expected to take the remainder with Mizzou. For the average 30 credit hour program, this is typically 6 credit hours. Please keep in mind that credit also needs to fulfill curriculum requirements.
- Transcript: An official baccalaureate transcript from a regionally accredited institution, including the official degree conferred and the date the degree was awarded.
- Application fee: $65 for U.S. citizens and permanent residents or $90 for nonresident international individuals is required for all new applications. Find out if you are eligible for a fee waiver.
- More about the general application process from the Graduate School.
Note: If your undergraduate degree is from Mizzou, or if an official copy of your bachelor's degree transcript is already on file, you do not need to provide extra transcript information.
